WB Panchayat Elections: Governor opens 'Peace Room' at Raj Bhavan to address violence

Since the announcement of the West Bengal Panchayat elections, the state has witnessed political unrest and violence, leading to the unfortunate loss of seven lives during the nomination process.

In response to the situation, Governor CB Anand Bose has taken proactive measures, including visiting violence-hit areas and establishing a 'Peace Room' at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata.

The 'Peace Room' aims to provide a platform for citizens to voice their grievances and file complaints related to the ongoing unrest surrounding the Panchayat elections. Any individual can submit their complaints to the 'Peace Room,' and the Raj Bhavan will forward the matters to the State Government and the State Election Commissioner for appropriate action.

To ensure accessibility, citizens of West Bengal can lodge complaints through phone or email. The 'Peace Room' can be reached at 03322001641, and the email ID for complaints is [email protected].
